No. If someone can bring me proof, scientific proof, I’m open to the idea. But until there’s more than religious doctrine, I have to say no.

I’m agnostic, I do not believe in gods or religion. I do have some thoughts on this even though we know essentially nothing about consciousness and what happens after death. If we are really made of only information and it is finite then we can potentially be resurected, copied, replayed, altered or given another life. Trillions of years could pass yet the transformation would seem instantaneous. Multiple scenarios could also be concurrent. The universe could be software based, not exactly a simulation (or it could be) but a type of “creation” in a deistic sense. That makes for some interesting possibilities. We could be could be relaying consciousness through a type of telemetry system to our bodies in this universe from outside of it. There is the very remote possibility that a “soul” is real and can leave this universe. I actually think that the odds are rather slim that it’s lights out for all eternity. There are just too many other possibilities. I do think we may eventually figure some of this out using science.

Nope. If we don’t expect apes and dogs and cats and worms to have a life after death, why would we expect humans to? Contrary to what some believe, humans are not that special.

No and quite frankly I think the whole idea of being reunited with people in some bizarre afterlife to be the stuff of horror. I have zero desire to see those from my past that I gave the axe to, what a nightmare. lol

@Coloma surely those who believe in the afterlife believe you can pick and choose who you want to see. If you don’t want to see them, you move to the other side of heaven.

I believe when we’re dead, we’re dead. No afterlife. How we live each day and the good works and memories among friends and loved ones is our afterlife.
