Are there any private parks similar in grandeur to state parks?

Not necessarily grandeur, but bigly. With decent facilities, and deep woods.

Basically a privately operated state park.

@Ltryptophan – in Georgia we have a very excellent State Park system.

Remember, the Appalachian trail starts here.

John D. Rockefeller Estate in New York overlooking the Tappan Zee bridge Kykuit part of the Rockefeller family
estate.
It is open for visitors through the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

@Ltryptophan the Kykuit is NOT a state park, it is on private property like asked and being controlled by private nonprofit the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

There are nice places that are privately owned but rarely do they equal the size and splendor of a national or state park.
