Hello.
I suffer from PTSD 2 years now.
I have tried everything, from antidepressants to Xanax to meditation to mindful breathing and CBD oil, and i have found little to no comfort, till one day i inhaled one puff of joint, and felt relaxed and at peace for the very first time, and naturally i want more weed in my life now but how? I don’t smoke! nor i want to.
Are out there any alternatives with the same calming effect? like a cannabis tea or a candy or whatever?

Yes, edibles. You can either buy them from a cannabis dispensary or make your own. Plenty of recipes online. Candies, cookies, brownies, etc. Just start with a small dose and see how you react.

A bit of trivia about Amsterdam. The city is well known for their lax attitude of selling marijuana products and their buyers, despite it being against the law. The only time someone risks arrest is if they are under the influence and generate a disturbance that impacts others enough that the authorities are notified. This rarely happens.

In the fine city of Amsterdam, one can purchase all sorts of edible products that contain cannabis: lollipops, candy bars, cookies, brownies, etc. They are located in convince stores and “coffee” shops.

Best wishes in overcoming the PTSD. May you find what works for you.

My daughter is traveling to Amsterdam, Poland and Rome on May 1. She is looking forward to a little happy canal tour in Amsterdam. haha

I don’t know if you’re also against vaping, but it’s less harmful on the lungs than smoking. Otherwise, as @Coloma said, edibles, although dosing is harder on those, meaning that it’s easier to accidentally get “too high” and have a bad time.

Some people here at work were just discussing some cannabis products from a dispensary around the corner in San Francisco. You can get a dozen watermelon gummy bears with the same active ingredient as a gram of smokable bud for $20.

I see @Mariah just mentioned vape, that is also a non smoking way to ingest.

If you have never tried pot before you should not start with an edible. They last longer and get you much more high than smoking.

If you have never smoked now is the time to try. Try using a pipe. You can decide how much to inhale without wasting the pot (like in a joint) and you do not have to take big hits (like a bong). Try a water pipe, if you think the smoke will be too harsh. Also try a Setiva before a hybrid or an Indica strain. You don’t want to start with anything too strong.

The first thing I ever smoked was pot. It’s not that bad.

Find a serious stoner you trust and ask for advice. I’m not kidding.

Personally, smoking makes me feel sick and I hate the head-swimming thing. Sativa in general makes me a grumpy asshole. But a small dose of indica in edible form alleviates some of my chronic pain and lessens anxiety. I don’t do it often, but it’s really nice to have occasionally.

Like any drug, legal, recreational, or pharmaceutical, individual people will have different reactions to different strains at different doses.

You have to find what works for you.

I just drink 1 Rye and ginger ale, then 1 Corona Extra, then another Rye and ginger ale, then another Corona and I watch Adam Sandler movies until I fall asleep.
I don’t use weed, but this is how I get high when I’m feeling down.
Good luck. : )

Home-made chocolate chip cookies. But please remove the stems and seeds first. Make some tea with the stems while the cookies are baking.

I find that infusing the cannabis into an oil is a better way to go than cooking the plant itself. Coconut oil is a great choice, and makes a fantastic vegan white chocolate chip cookie. Allegedly.

I suggest you to please don’t smoke. Instead start putting your time which you like the most. Meet new people and if possible go for a Holiday- Alone…

This article along with others from the same onli e periodical, will give you some good information about buying or creating edibles, and dosages. 10 mg THC is considered a standard dose, but if your experience is limited, you should probably use a smaller dose, maybe ½ or ⅓ of the edible
