What happens if you put an electric coil around on iron pipe?

Would the fact that the ‘iron core’ is a tube affect the behavior of the induced magnetic field?

Now, what happens if you put a wire inside this iron pipe that is surrounded with an electric coil?

No. And nothing happens to the wire since it is shielded by the pipe.

You have made a very simple transformer provided you use an ac source conneted to the coil.
