Anyone know a good way to artificially age cedar?

Want to try my hand at making some picture frames from some old barnwood I acquired but would like to have the newly cut (and painstakingly glaring) edges greyed out to match the rest of the wood. I am fairly certain it is a cedar.

Anyone know any tricks?

I saw on HGTV where they lightly torched wood to age it and then lightly sanded it til it blended in. Then they sealed it with polyurethane.

I wonder what brushing tea on it would do?

Spray it with white vinegar. Might work…
