How many bedrooms and do you have children that need a good school system ?

Small or large town, coastal or mountains? I can speak for western NC. It’s a wonderful place to raise kids and the cost of living is not bad.

2–3 bedroom I have 2 little girls, only one of them is in school at the moment the other is only 2 but a decent school system would be nice..

Small town preferably but anything inexpensive that doesn’t have too high of a crime rate, thank you (:

I was looking into fayeteville, do you have an opinion on this city?

I grew up in Hendersonville and Brevard. Both are in the Western part in the smoky mountains. Can’t really speak for the coast. If I moved back I’d go to Asheville. It’s low-crime, politically diverse, inexpensive and there are a lot of good things to do in the area.

I wonder what Fuquay-Varina and Garner are like now? Might be too expensive. When I lived in Raleigh those towns were farther out and less developed, but that was many years ago. The good thing was being near Raleigh if you wanted to go into the city.

A friend of mine was from Boone, in the mountains. It’s supposed to be nice.

Pinehurst is a beautiful area, expensive, but it gets kind of rural pretty fast not far outside of Pinehurst, so I wonder if you could find something near there? A friend of mine lives on a farm about 20 miles south I think.

Blue Ridge Georgia is pretty choice too.

Another vote for the western part of the state – like almost to Tennessee. It’s beautiful out there and still quite rural. Stay away fro Charlotte or the RTP – housing is vastly inflated. Somewhere 10–20 minutes outside of Asheville would be good.

Anyone have an opinion on Winston salem?

It is, just not Asheville proper. There are plenty of towns just outside of Asheville like Arden that are affordable. Why does it have to be NC anyway? Tennessee has no state income tax like NC and the average single family home mortgage is like $750/mo
