I started a new job and it’s my third shift. I just now met a coworker. I introduced myself and ever since then, she’s been so snotty and rude. Rollimg her eyes at me and making sarcastic remarks. I’ve only talked to her twice, both times about work so I don’t understand why she is being mean…

Some people are just horrible. How old is she? In my experience when people act in such a nasty way, it’s their problem, not mine. She is quite likely insecure about something and she feels threatened by you. Just focus on doing your job. Don’t take the bait and continue to be nice and polite.

I don’t know how long you’ve been in the workforce, but whether you’re a newbie or a vet, wait’ll you’ve worked at this company for a while, and at companies throughout career. Mean? I guarantee you ain’t seen nuthin’ yet!

First off, let’s clarify that not all girls are mean. Many are quite nice.

This girl, however, sounds like an ass. I would simply follow the great advice above and keep being you.

I promise you though, you’ll meet some nice people along the way too.

If this continues, you might want to talk to your supervisor. This sort of drama is passive aggressive, and could potentially affect your work. It’s never appropriate in a work environment.
