Hella mushrooms, but it depends on the season. I got tons of chantrelles and porcinis in Mendocino in February.

anyhow, there is a lot of rosemary, fennel and mint. In the East Bay I see a lot of beets and potatoes; tubers thrive out here. The farther north you go, the more wild foods you’ll find.

I have found patches of wild strawberries scattered here and there.

Ditto on the mushrooms for the south bay and below, but you have to be careful, of course. Mustard is another one that comes to mind, as part of its “Valley of the Heart’s Delight” (pre-Silicon Valley) orchard days. Pepper trees are all over as well. The Keesling Walnut trees line Monterey Rd (they were planted for shade in the pioneer days). There are more, I’m sure that I can’t think of at the moment.

Not sure if quite wild but trees in Oakland and Berkeley in June and July are packed with plums!
