I love spiders. I owned a snake for about 5 years.
I used to work in an emergency veterinary hospital. We usually just dealt with cats, and dogs, but we also did lots of work with DNR, and were a drop off point for injured wildlife. We actually had to do surgery on snakes a lot. People put golf balls in old bird’s nests to kill snakes. The snake would think they were eggs, and eat them. So, people would bring them in if found, and we would remove the golf ball, and eventually turn them over to a rehab facility. I also did lots of relocation of the abundant Copperheads from the area by the hospital used for dog walking.
I’m not a fan of gators, but I fish along side them in my canoe all the time. I also see my share of Cotton mouths in the water. They leave me alone, and I don’t bother them. They will actually get mad if you mess with them, and try to attack you. They’re very dangerous. We also have some Eastern Diamond Back rattle snakes. They usually give you a warning, and let you back off. But they are scary when provoked.
I really just love almost all animals, and insects.
