Do you enjoy confusing a cat?
Monty Python did: Confuse-A-Cat, Ltd.
There’s a pretty gray and white cat in our neighborhood that often snoozes on or near the fence in front of our house. I think she’s a stray, although probably not actually feral. When I go out, I speak to her: “Hi, Pretty Cat.”
(No, I don’t care if this strikes anyone as eccentric.)
I thought she might get accustomed to me and let me close enough to give her a little gritch, but she doesn’t. However, she is used to my voice and presence and doesn’t run off when I speak without approaching.
Now and then, she passes through my back or side yard, and every once in a while I’ll quickly open a window and say “Hi, Pretty Cat” from a direction she’s not expecting.
What is more gratifying than seeing a cat get a total WTF look on her face?
That’s why I don’t do it too often. It would spoil the fun.
Do you ever deliberately confuse a cat?
