Is there anyone here who is Korean who could explain something to me about Olympic Opening show?
I didn’t understand the tale about the children and the lighting of candles. I mean, I understood that the symbolism of lighting candles but the narrator said something about the children who keep appearing and something about people going out for a few nights lighting candles. I didn’t understand if it is some folk lore, or a historical event, or story, or a recent event. It felt like it was some huge national event that happened in South Korea. Or maybe I just misunderstood the whole thing. I know they kept using the same 5 children through the event and I wondered if it has some real significance?
