Having troubles with General?

“Great Question” (3points)

I have to use my phone to visit.
I have been unable to get anything besides general the past couple of days.
If a question comes up in my activity from social or meta I can click on them, but I can’t go to them to see any new activity. The choices are there, but when I click on them it just stays in general.
Is anyone else having this problem?

I don’t use mobile, but I just tried it on a “smart” phone, and it’s broken for me too.

Exactly like you wrote, I see a drop-down menu which lets me select Social or Meta, but doing so has no effect on which questions are shown.

However I can hack around it by going to the URL field in the browser and adding /browse/social to the web address, i.e.: i.fluther.com/browse/social or i.fluther.com/browse/meta will show the other sections.

Okay.
Thanks.
I wasn’t sure if the issue was with fluther, my phone, or what.

No issues for me…

– Chrome 65.0.3325.109

Fortunately I haven’t faced any issues from my mobile.

Yeah Patty. Sounds like you have the same problem.

It looks like one piece of the site that makes it more interactive isn’t loading right. Things like the dropdown for switching sections, the links for GAs, and the comment previews when you write something all rely on it. It’s actually pretty great how well the site works without it.

——The web-guy explanation that will hopefully help someone fix it.—-

The security certificate for static.fluther.com expired and that domain serves up some of the key javascript files (yui_270_combo.js) for the site. Browsers that require secure content via on an https url will not probably not be able to use those files. It looks like the certificate expired 4 days ago.

Okay—I fixed it. Thanks everyone. Sorry about that!

I’ll change the email so I get these warnings right away in the future.

(Turns out I also wasn’t paying the server bills. Oops)

Thanks for fixing the problem. Sorry if I mentioned it on another Q or 2. Until last night, I couldn’t even get to Meta or Social. Looks like things are chugging along OK now.
