Sort of. The best friend of an old boyfriend was spotted in a restaurant one night ~15 years since we all last saw each other and 100s of miles away from that city (Minneapolis). I approached Rick and asked him if a.) it was him, and b.) what the heck he was doing in Memphis. Rick was moving to Florida and was halfway back to Minn. after a house search.
He said that the ex boyfriend agreed to help him move, and they would give me a call when heading back through. Sure enough they did, and the three of us had dinner together. It was fun to verbally revisit our olden days, as well as catch up.
LOL, there were no pangs of regret for either of us, I expect. I was happy that he ended up living where he wanted to be, loving his wife and the three sons. I was happy with my career and would have been miserable had we stayed together.
The reunion took place ~22 years ago. I’m really happy that it happened. Break-ups are rarely positive for both parties. This was an opportunity for both of us to see that it was the right decision.
