After reading what WebMD has to say about it, I would not recommend it. They say that it is generally no more effective for joint pain than a placebo, and has a lot of potentially dangerous side effects.
You can read about that here:https://www.webmd.com/vitamins-and-supplements/dmso-uses-and-risks
And here is more info that suggests dimethyl sulfoxide is not approved for any other uses except a bladder condition called intertitial cystitis.
This info is from The Mayo Clinic:https://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements/dimethyl-sulfoxide-intravesical-route/description/drg-20063424
You might consider altering your diet to include foods that have anti-inflammatory properties.
You can read about that on arthritis.org here:http://blog.arthritis.org/living-with-arthritis/diet-foods-arthritis-pain/
The arthritis foundation also recommends certain types of physical exercise for helping to ease joint pain.

I hope you get some relief soon.
