Music lovers, can you recommend a licensable song that fits for a short film?

“Great Question” (1points)

A friend is making a short film about a mob enforcer. The movie opens with a scene of my character running through a parking deck and up stairwells (much/all will be in slow-motion) with the opening credits overlaid.

It’s currently being edited using the Beastie Boys’ “Sabotage” to get the tone right, but my friend obviously doesn’t have the budget to license a song like that. There are many indie bands that make their music available to license for short films for reasonable rates. Do any of you know of any artists/songs that might be similar to Sabotage in tone, tempo, style, etc. but would be affordable to license? Thanks in advance for your help!

He should consider using the free library of music available on the YouTube’s Creator Studio. Its all public domain and free to use.

I’ve been known to write a song or two. If your friend hasn’t found anything suitable, PM me and let’s discuss it.
