That they are nice ,giving people who think of others first before themselves.
That they actually care about other cultures and learn from them.
That others can trust them.
The above are all misconceptions .
That racism is doesn’t exist.
That our democracy isn’t corrupt
That everyone carries guns at a all time.
That if you work hard and study hard, you can be whatever you wish to be.
That our justice system treats everyone equally no matter their connection or money. (That one is a big ha, ha)
Having gone to a few countries I did discover one thing though that I agree with them. They believe Americans can be too full of themselves and we are extremely ignorant about other nations. They do know more about us than we know about them because most of our news is mostly about our nation. When they report new events around the world, they actually cover them. Not just a quick headline.
@Pandora“That everyone carries guns at a all time. ” Way back in the 1970’s my parents went to Canada. At the border they were asked if they had any firearms in their possession and my father told them he did not. They asked again, and then a third time. Dad was adamant that he did not have a gun with him.
When he asked them why they were so intent upon this he was told that it was his Texas license plates, that they (the Canadian border officers) always pressed visitors from Texas and Alabama because, as he put it, “They always carry guns”.
