How many active users do you think there are?

“Great Question” (2points)

I think there may be around, max, 25 users that every now and then ask a question, or write an answer or other kind of reply.
How many do you think there are (left)?
After all 25 of you have responded, with what you think is the number of active members, I will add ‘m all up and divide it to get the actual number.

Go.

Gosh, I am not good with numbers, and I don’t really look at things that way. Not a lot though.

Sometimes I roll my eyes at some of the answers, because they seem to be phoned in, and you could win money if you placed a bet on what some Jellies answers will be.

janbb's avatar

I’m fairly immobile usually when Fluthering.

rebbel's avatar

I want numbers, Jellies….
For all I care you make them up, but I need numbers!

stanleybmanly's avatar

My guess is that the number is much larger if you allow “active to include “infrequent”.

rebbel's avatar

Fair point.
And the number you guess?

C’mon guys, I need numbers.
How else will I manage to do calculations… ~

@rebbel Is it time for a roll call?

rebbel's avatar

Ssshhhhhh, don’t tell anyone; this is one, in disguise…

Mimishu1995's avatar

I’m here to add to the number :P

22?

Brian1946's avatar

I have 25 users in my Fluther who post at least once in awhile, although some haven’t posted in several months.

Mimishu1995's avatar

@Brian1946 You always show up in unexpected places. Sometimes I thought you were gone forever :(

The best way to get a close guesstimate is to “follow” everyone who answers a question here. We just have to agree on how long the tally should continue in order to allow all the “active” members to show up.

I suspect this is something JP could figure out when he feels better.

Using the probability density here

https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/4abaca87a10ecfa77b5a205056523706fe6c9c3f

and carefully defining active by examining the pigs entrails I had left-over from another investigation I conclude that the number of active Fluther participants is :

325

I’m number 1!

Dutchess_lll's avatar

How do we count major users like Zen and Auggie who pop in and out?

rebbel's avatar

Active ish .

rebbel's avatar

The numbers are in:
It’s 25.
25 active members.
Including me, and two active ish members.

janbb's avatar

I can count on the top of my head several who haven’t responded here. Your methodology is specious, dear.

rebbel's avatar

It’s very sound.
I predicted 25, and my conclusion is 25.
Sounds as solid as a rock to me.
25 it is.
No more argument.
Done.
Dusted.

….. Dear.

“No more argument…” that is thenmost hilarious thing I’ve heard in this place!

I got 41 in a much more scientific assessment.
