OK, just googled the name. Turned out I actually know about it.

That series is a meme in my country. There is so much hype here that screenshots of it become memes all over FB, although the meme fever kind of dies down recently.

I haven’t watched it though. I have no interest in Chinese medieval stories. But from a glance it looks like another generic Chinese palace story where all the women fight for the queen position. It’s an old trope in my place. I don’t really get the hype.

It’s quite an intriguing story, a murder mystery in the Forbidden City and the photography, the sets and the costumes are simply stunning. I can see why it is so popular throughout Asia. There is a version on Youtube with English subtitles. (I think that link should work),
