Your question reminds me that we’re about to hit New Years Resolution Season at my health club. Every January, people buy memberships, resolving to work out and get in shape. The place is packed for a few weeks, then attendance tapers-off to normal levels. But, those new, but soon absent, members continue to pay dues and support the club financially.
One noteworthy exception – a guy who started last January and is still there. He lost a significant amount of weight and is now fit and healthy. Every now and then, I slip him a quiet, private complement about how well he’s done and what an inspiration he is.
