In the movie Idocracy, do you think it's possible countries aside from the U.S are actually completely normal?
So this is a little thing I thought of thinking back on the movie Idiocracy after re-watching it a while back, and from what I recall about the movie, I don’t recall seeing any sort reference or indication that there are other nations present in the movie, and it got me thinking about it a little more.
Essentially, my theory stems from trumps plan to build a wall, closing borders, and killing immigration, it could basically cut off the country from the rest of the world, and from what I recall I didn’t see any shots with air traffic in them, or mention of it.
Trump also reduced the education budget, so one could submit that this happened multiple times, across however many different leaders, that led to the general dumbing down of the population.
I think that it might be possible, and would be pretty amusing, that the US essentially would have cut itself off, and the whole dumbing down and disaster situation ended up just being a problem in the U.S., while other countries basically went on as normal, but didn’t send any form of aid due to borders being closed down.
Maybe there was something that I missed in the movie but it was a fun little thought I wanted to share and get opinions on as I don’t really have anyone that I talk to about movies and the like. (or anything really)
