I don’t bother with that tripe.

Yes, I do, but I am not going to tell you about it.

One thing that I prize about Fluther is that I am anonymous. No one knows my name or my hobbies or my job. I can say what I say without fear of professional criticism or blowback.

My blog is a professional blog that bears my name, affiliation, credentials, contact information, and so on and so forth. I have zero interest in exposing that the Flutherian public.

I followed a few, mostly gardening and cooking.
I like that such a thing e it’s for people to share things, and some blogs are amazingly well written.

I follow a classical music blog that often gives me good ideas of new pieces to listen to or good recordings to buy. And I have followed friends’ temporary travel blogs.

That’s about the extent of my interest in blogs. I know people who get all their news from blogs. Not my thing.

Maybe it’s just me, but I seem to notice that blogs cater for really specific niches. Because of that, many blogs are more well-written and informative than any other websites. It’s a strange thing considering how amateur some blogs look compared to more “professional” sites catering for the same purposes. Some blogs make me wish the bloggers were more passionate to keep them running.

I’m currently following a blog of a non-fiction writer who uses his blog to provide updates on his new book. He doesn’t only provide his progress but also documents what he found and even has book recommendation. He seems really invested in his blog and his book.

I’m also maintaining a blog myself, where I provide in-dept analysis of obscure movies :P

Andy Weir’s The Martian started as a blog. Just some FYI for those who think blogs are stupid.

I read this very good blog about dogs regularly. The author, Patricia Mcconnell, is a great writer and scientist. As a bonus, she shares lovely pictures of Border Collies and sheep.
