Can you comment on the following quote of a TV series I found on Google (very interesting, if you click you'll see it)?

“Great Question” (1points)

“Are society’s principles” (sometimes, don’t remember) “just a fabrication so those who deny their deepest desires can show that they are good people?”
Naturally, it’s not my favorite quote, but I think all the same it deserves some serious discussion about this. Of course, it’s a stock phrase, and doesn’t apply always.

I don’t believe that’s true. Those principles are the lubricant which allows the society to function.

Wouldn’t that depend on whether their “deepest desires” are are for good or for “evil”?

No. Those principles are there to keep those desires in check. Take for example our (I assume) reluctance to pee on the sidewalk regardless of the urgency.
