“Great Question” (1points)

I think that all people are created equal at birth, with the same rights and obligations inherent to sentient life, but that with time they change due to one’s efforts, or lack thereof. “Equality” may be a false concept, but our inequality remains a difficult thing to accept. That is, if we think about it.
Let’s see what you guys say about it!

What rights and obligations are inherent to sentient life?

I think that computers and animals are the next slaves. They get paraded around like a market, and have no rights. People seem to be programmed to have other people work for free or cheap

And clearly all people are not born equal.

I don’t think a wolf or a tiger or a dolphin have any obligations just because they are sentient. What “rights” they have are given to them by humans.
As for the other, it’s pretty much what our American constitution is based on, but it has required some tweaking over the years. When they said,“All men are created equal,” they literally meant all white men. They did not include women or people of color.
In summary, “equality” is another man made concept and structure.

And that’s what I think of that.

@Dutchess_III: I should’ve substituted “sentient” with “self-aware”.

Well, how many animals,besides ourselves, are self aware?

Rights or obligations????? What does that mean to an animal ?

^^^ Nothing.
