Have you ever reworded and posted a fair/good/great answer after it was modded for writing standard?

I wonder what the answer was I ask myself. I hope that doesn’t end up making them feel like they don’t want to waste their time, if it took them a while to research etc.

I don’t recall that ever happening to me. It seems the mods always catch it and sent it back for corrections before any GA is awarded. The mods are VERY wise!

@kritiper I don’t think there is an “You have an answer that needs editing” editing is only for OPs (questions).

I have never had an answer modded for writing standards.

Not an answer, just a few questions. Back when sweet Auggie was our mod, she’d make helpful suggestions to improve questions. I always took her gentle advice.

If you clicked on one of the threads you’re not participating but just following, and hoping someone would have the answer. Maybe the answer was in the modded for writing standards.

I have never had a question or an answer moderated for writing standards either.

@flo you said ”I don’t think there is an “You have an answer that needs editing” editing is only for OPs (questions).” You asked specifically about answers, not questions.

...Have you ever read the answer on a thread where you’re just a follower, and you read an answer, thought it was a good/great answer, and later you noticed it got modded for writing standard? And, later did you reword it and post something like: “Here is what @....‘s post said, paraphrasing)”

To my recollection, I’ve only been modded for content, not for writing standards. Usually it’s for making a snarky or off-topic remark in a question in General. And when I get modded I usually abandon because I really don’t care that much.

No, because if I see an answer that has disappeared into the mod pen, for writing standards, I simply assume that the answer didn’t make any sense.

I can’t imagine assuming that the mods don’t know the difference between content and competence in English literacy. Wouldn’t it mean that the only person who makes sense is the one who speaks/writes all the languages in the world (or on this site English) perfectly?

@Caravanfan I’m not asking if anyone has been moded for writing standard. Please see my OP and my response.

@Flo, if an answer is written in such poor English (the only language that matters on this site) that it doesn’t make sense, it will modded.

@flo Interesting. Okay, I read it.
