What do you think is happening on the lake?

“Great Question” (1points)

We have a huge lake down between Missouri and Arkansas where healthy young men along with many others simply disappear. (Google it, tons of stories)

The U.S. Coast Guard considers Lake of the Ozarks the third most dangerous waterway in the country.

Some people say there’s giant catfish & flatheads down there, pirahnas have been caught, there’s trees under the water- very strong currents especially in storms, waterspouts, etc…. Some attribute all these deaths to the lake partyers, night boating mixed with alcohol. It’s got really bad juju.

What is your theory?
(The weirder the better)

Lake of the Ozarks has spoonbill. They are freakin monster fish dating back before dinosaurs.
Maybe Nessie’s cousin is also down there, or maybe people getting a look at those ugly spoonbill turned to stone and sank to the bottom.

haha, it’s so weird. If you’ve ever went water skiing or boogie boarding in a lake, you can feel things brushing your leg and it’s so creepy. I just won’t do it anymore.

It says those spoonbill are filter fish though, so they wouldn’t eat a human. Maybe tussle you, but I doubt it. They taste good, too.

I never tasted any. I lived in Misery during my teens, and it was illegal to keep them evening snagged by accident.

I didn’t think the missing had been eaten by spoonbill, just scared by them, or eaten by Nessie’s cousin. Since spoonbill are found in that lake, maybe other prehistoric stuff does too.

I could be wrong, but I think the reason they were illegal forty years ago was because they could be found nowhere else, and so were a classified species.

@Patty_Melt The deeper the woods, the less the law applies. :) I only had it once myself and I’m a lifer.

It’s the current popular place to stage a disappearance to escape from your crazy, texting, selfie pouting, millennial girlfriend.

So, I was looking for any articles to back my fading memory.
There were only two species of paddlefish; North American, and the other found in China, except the China one has just been declared extinct. So, we have the only kind, and it needs help to spawn.

Your first article, about disappearance of the Fahey’s is badly written.
First it says 13 confirmed passengers, but pilot doesn’t remember them. So, how then, were they confirmed? The groom’s watch was found, but where?
Who were the thirty people with the wreath? Were they mob, relatives, or just mystery seekers?
I think the biggest mystery of that story is, where is the rest of the story?

I’ve heard it said that there are sturgeon who were caught between dams on the Snake River on the border of Oregon and Idaho that were thought to be over 250’ long. Some, when caught along other sections of the Snake, were hitched to teams of four horses to be pulled out, but the fish were stronger and the teams were lost.
