My cousin’s wife is a vegan.

Great, no problem, although I confess I don’t like her much, and I just know the feeling is mutual.

But in a restaurant, before she orders, she announces to the waiter that she is a vegan. As if the waiter really gives a shit.

Why not just order from the menu what she will eat, or if the menu doesn’t include her preferences, go someplace else.
