Woman in a doctor’s office who hung on me because I told her the doctor hadn’t called me back, it had been days since I called, and I was going to be leaning the country. I asked her if she could help me because if my situation and let the doctor or nurse know the urgency of my situation. She said to me, “I left the message for the doctor last time, I don’t appreciate being called a liar,” and hung up on me.
WTF?!
I called back and spoke with office manager and she took care of what I needed. Seemed my doctor was out of town and they didn’t bother to tell me, and I don’t give a shit anyway, I need my drugs.
A couple of months later when seeing the doctor I told her what happened, and she said, “yeah you have a reputation in the office.”
Um…fuck them. The doctor defended the staff? I need a change in dose on my thyroid medication and I waited almost two weeks to hear something (the four days was after waiting a week to hear something to begin with) and the doctor defends the staff for not getting back to me when my bloodwork is outside of normal, and for hanging up on me.
For sure my most stressful bad customer service events are related to medical customer service either the doctors office or billing.
I have had severe reactions to medications not taken seriously, trying to work out a billing mistake, all sorts of shit.
