What is your favorite album?

“Great Question” (1points)

Given technological advances, you can substitute tape or CD with the word “album”. I’m looking at albums that were consistently good throughout…not just one or two hit songs. The kind of album that whenever the music comes on, you enjoy it and many others around you like it. Avoid Greatest Hits and Anthologies.

Favorite? I dunno. Something may be a favorite of mine at the moment then after a few weeks or months I’ve stopped listening to it and never play it again.

Some of my desert island discs, however, would be (in no particular ranking):

Godspeed You Black Emperor – Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven
Labradford – Labradford
Neurosis – Times of Grace
Faith No More – Angel Dust
William Basinski – Vivian and Ondine
Ulver – Svidd Neger
Future Sound of London – Dead Cities
Threshold HouseBoys Choir – Form Grows Rampant

Frank Zappa’s Burnt Weeny Sandwich I bought the LP in 1970 and I couldn’t understand why so few people liked it. Still can’t.
