America had HUGE protests against Trump when he was first in office, I’m not sure I’d say what happened over the past few days surpassed our own.

The Brits got out and protested when Trump was in the country, and then I’m sure it will slack off. What do the Brits have to lose by protesting? It’s not their president.

Trump is crass, rude, and often undignified, and it’s the antithesis of the stiff upper lip and rules of etiquette that Brits expect from a leader.

Moreover, the UK is full Brits who were against BREXIT, and Trump represents the American brand of BREXIT. Great Britain is about to go through a major change, people are nervous, especially about trade, just like many Americans.

Plenty of Americans on my Facebook feed continue almost daily to protest Trump in writing.

He’s not very popular in Scotland either. He hasn’t ventured north of the border on his latest visit to the UK but the protesters were on the streets of Glasgow and Edinburgh yesterday. My favourite anti Trump placard read…Super callous fragile racist sexist Nazi potus.

Trump seems most popular, in places where ideas are more controlled by the popular thoughts of the uneducated/brainwashed, sheeps…. Usually, to the benefit of the most wealthy/elite…

The trip has been widely claimed to have been a resounding success, largely due to the Queen & her expertly placed diplomatic skills honed over the years.

People from other countries always have and always will love/ hate the states. Every time I’ve travelled, they’ve hated whomever is in the WH at the time. I remember a Scottish man in Mexico who swore up and down Bush was the debil….lol

@LadyMarissa Trump also said on his visit that he wanted to privatise Britain’s health service as part of a post Brexit trade deal a suggestion that sent such shock waves through the country that Trump had to retract.

As far as the protests go I attended one in Glasgow and while the turnout in the rain was disappointing with only maybe a couple of hundred taking part I saw not one, not one Trump supporter.

I don’t know where you got your figures from but you can gauge the feelings of the people of the UK towards Trump from the numbers signing the following UK government petitions:

1. Prevent Donald Trump from making a State Visit to the United Kingdom (Petition 171928) 1,863,708 signatures.

2. Donald Trump should make a State Visit to the United Kingdom (petition 178844 ) 317,542 signatures.
