I’m guessing not one person in particular but Burgundy seems to be a parody, an amalgamation of some male newscasters who for whatever reason were perceived to be mysoginistic and self-absorbed sexists.

Yes. It’s the character running rampant in his movies. Ferrell performed a standup routine as Burgundy on Colbert last night and I thought it fell grindingly flat. I actually felt sorry for him til I remembered he’s gotta be richer than Croesus.

Does the “New York in the House” bit sound George Carlin?
