What's the difference between the justice system and the legal system?

I have a habit of adding “see detail” in title, since I find some people don’t read the detail part.

“Justice System” and “Legal System” are vague and have much overlap.

It is best to name the individual agencies or at least whether you mean municipal, state-level, national, etc.

Courts are the legal system. Prisons are the justice system.

@RedDeerGuy1 But how about the wrongly convicted and saved by DNA?
@stanleybmanly I would have thought there is a lot of search results for that question on Google etc.

Most of the “wrongly convicted” were “guests” of the justice/prison system when those convictions were overturned.

@RedDeerGuy1 Prison is part of the legal system too isn’t it, i.e that’s what led them to prison.
