C) Fun to watch.

I can’t stand the man; however, he is our president. At the same time, he started this shameful display himself & he found it humorous when it worked in his favor. I found it WRONG when trump did it against Hillary & still find it WRONG in the current context. That doesn’t mean that I wouldn’t smile IF he ever went to jail…I still find it shameful that this happened!!!

I CANNOT argue with @cookieman because it was slightly amusing!!!

I’m not sure it is distinctly American to like or even respect the president. They’re just politicians after all (although I suppose acting respectful never hurts even if it’s an act).

I think it is very American to be a little rowdy and irreverent, and to keep politicians off balance.

And I’m with @cookieman , this kind of craziness is fun to watch whatever side you’re on.

Deserved.

@josie I don’t disagree with you. It was a Rep/con friend of mine who informed me that it was unamerican to be disrespectful of our president. Both her parents had said negative comments against George W Bush. She was ranting that they were idiots who were also unamerican. Then when she disagreed with Obama it suddenly became her American right to free speech. I’ve always felt that Americans were above acting like this. Then again, we’ve never had a dictator before. i don’t see us going down without kicking and screaming along the way

One of the best things about the United States of America is we have managed peaceful transfers of power. I think Bush v.2 should have been tried in The Hague. But I understand why he was able to just fade into painting bathtub pictures of his feet.

If you think the next person is going to come after you with total immunity you are probably going to do everything you can to stay in office.

The “Lock her up” shit was always stupid. But I will admit to enjoying it coming back to bite him.

Dutchess_lll's avatar

Our very Constitution declares that it is ultimately American to criticize the president and every other leader.

Well deserved, and communicated how real Americans feel about Trump.

Enjoyable!

Intersting idea that did make me think!!! There were 2 main thoughts that caught my eye…

When does a necessary evil become just evil?
AND
Because if Donald Trump remakes all of us in his image, no matter who takes the White House in 2020, he will have won.

I NEVER want to act like trump…NOT even on my worst day!!!

Dutchess_lll's avatar

@mazingerz88… I’ve watched the video a few times. I honestly cannot see a moment that it crosses his face. He goes from grinning like an idiot for the jumbotron to his customary bitch resting pouty face which looks like a 2 year old who was just told “No.”

The freedom to openly dislike the president is quite American. People need to stop acting like this country is synonymous with whoever happens to be president at any given time.

@LadyMarissa :: All of us are horrible people deep inside. And that is okay. I think racist shit, I wanted to call my sister a cunt today because she was giving me shit. But I don’t say those things because I know they are wrong. Please don’t get me started on the Jews..

I had a few experiences in high school that were unpleasant. Now I won’t bang blonds or women that wear white jeans. Just becuase a few blondes in bleached jeans ruins the bunch.

The thing is I keep that all bundled up inside my head. And that is fine. Think your racist shit. But keep it inside. I do.

Trump has normalized it. People are now saying it out-loud and that is bad.

And if any members of antifa (anti-facist) want to punch nazis in the face (lol richard spencer) I will happily work on paying their legal defense bill.

wiscoblond's avatar

^Think racist shit? For real? Dude. smh

Nobody is perfect but that doesn’t make us all horrible. There are good people, and some of us don’t think racist shit.

johnpowell's avatar

Then why do you support Trump? And why are you willing to accept the good you think you get over the so many bad things?

Tax cuts for the rich is a totally acceptable answer. Judges that hate women works too. But I want one of you to man the fuck up and say tax cuts for the rich (or whatever) are worth normalizing racism and misogyny and kids in cages and MIND FUCKING BLOWING DEFICITS…

OWN YOUR SHIT.. I have said it a hundred times. All I want is for you guys to say out loud what is a acceptable trade off. Again.. Super racist shit is cool if you got a tax cut. I understand that. Own it. I will understand and stop calling you a racist. But I want to know the transaction that needs to take place.

I don’t like this sort of chanting in general. I hated when Republicans were chanting lock her up, and I don’t like this in the same way. At the same time, of course the public has a right to voice their unhappiness with the President, that is very American, that is one of the most important parts of our freedom of speech. However, chanting creates a mob feeling. It can feel out of control and scary, while taking a knee in comparison delivers a message without the feeling that things could erupt into something worse.

I think everyone is there to watch the game, a great American pass time. Probably at least 30% of the people in the stadium support Trump, it would be nice for the game to pleasant for all those attending. Tickets were probably hundreds of dollars.

wiscoblond's avatar

Who supports Trump? I sure as fuck don’t.

wiscoblond's avatar

I’m a die hard Bernie supporter. I wish an evil death on Trump. The motherfucker wants to make my sons life more difficult than it is just because he’s transgender. You’ve got me confused with someone else, Ryan. And ffs, Marissa hates Trump just as much.

johnpowell's avatar

Heather Heyer was killed by a white nationalist fueled and normalized by trump and foxchan. Trump said “Good people on both sides”. Do you agree with that? And if you do not agree with that what made you feel support of him was a acceptable trade-off?

“Nobody is perfect but that doesn’t make us all horrible. There are good people, and some of us don’t think racist shit.

That is kinda the trope fired off by people on the trump subreddit.. Sorry about getting mixed up in that bubbler of trash.

I assumed from your post your were sticking your dick into the Trump-Train.

wiscoblond's avatar

Refresh buddy and put the Pabst down.

You just said you think racist shit and I called you out on it because I sure as fuck don’t think racist shit.

And I have a VAGINA, not a penis. Call me she/her.

wiscoblond's avatar

Where are you Ryan since you won’t take messages, though you did to tell me so. I aired my beef in public like you told me to do which goes against my better judgment because I don’t like men telling me what to do. Where’s your answer? Why are you being so rude to me here in public? I didn’t deserve this. I only said some people are good and don’t think racist shit, unlike you.

LostInParadise's avatar

It is a mark of how far Trump has degraded the presidency that shouting “Lock him up” is entirely appropriate. The office of President is only deserving of honor if the holder of the office makes some minimal effort to act with dignity.

Trump’s constant lying, abuse of power, elementary school vocabulary, close ties with dictators,Twitter rants, racism, misogyny and xenophobia have brought dishonor to the presidency. The sooner he leaves, the better off we will be. It will not immediately solve our problems, but it will make it possible to work on them.

ucme's avatar

All this “Trump traffic” across the Internet is nowt but a smokescreen. Your country is split completely down the middle with politics & so Dems & Reps would be at each others throats regardless of the personality of the president.

KNOWITALL's avatar

Neither. For me, it is unseemly behavior regardless of the President at the time.

@ucme I agree.

tinyfaery's avatar

We have a right to protest. As long as those protest aren’t violent, they are not un-American.

Historically presidents have been booed. I’m not sure why it’s such a big deal now.

stanleybmanly's avatar

Trump should be treated with the same dignity he accords to his office—he should be degraded, derided, disparaged, decried and dumped on as a matter of routine. He should be given EXACTLY the respect and good manners he exudes toward others

MrGrimm888's avatar

^I agree. Respect, is a two way street. The way I saw it. It was like everyone laughing, when the school bully got put in his place.

I LOVED the look on his face, when he realized what was happening.
