I’ve participated in empty bowls before! Well, I was there for the auction of the bowls and donated my time helping with the food there.

@Coolhandluke – I have never showed up once for this event Lol! I just call them to pick up my work.
I make on average 50 bowls (100 being the most I’ve ever done) They go for $30. I need to make something for the auction someday.
A few years ago, the newspaper called for an interview and I told the reporter that I’d only answer questions if he spoke in the voice of Yosemite Sam.
He did and I laughed my way through that interview. :)

@Coolhandluke – He was a lot of fun. When I read the article in the paper, my interview consisted of a single sentence as our conversation was largely unprintable.

Years ago I worked as a care assistant in a residential home for Alzheimers sufferers.
Those couple of years have stuck with me ever since & I make regular cash donations to the Alzheimers Disease Society, something which rewards my heart.

I’m on the Habitat for Humanity board. We do stuff in the community almost every month.

one with a “floating blue” glaze that I formulated. I have misplaced the recipe for it and it is driving me nuts now that i need it.

Very little these days.
In the past I’ve worked in dining halls for homeless, visited in senior homes, various activities for different charities. I used to give blood before I was taking so many meds.
I have boxes of clothes my daughter left behind I want to donate, but so far haven’t been able to arrange a ride for them.
I volunteered for a while at the VA medical center in Reno.
I once developed a means for veterans to get a copy of their 214 in no more than a week, when it previously went six to eight weeks. For a homeless vet, that can be a death sentence.

I used to volunteer at the mission but I just can’t stand it anymore. I still donate to it regularly though. I give blood a couple times a year if that counts.

I organize an annual River Clean up in our town, I am a member of our county’s MRC Medical Reserve Corps, I do Arbor day and plant what seems like thousands of trees, I sponsor 2 scholarship awards for High School Seniors, I donate clothes, money and food to the local homeless shelter, I show up to all their parades which ultimately have to happen on the worst weather days.

Volunteered of many Boards in many capacities over the years.
Give to thrift shops
Give donations to Food Drops ( supermarkets collect)
Give Christmas Gifts ( new) to drop off boxes that are collected for the disadvantaged.
Decorated the Store ( my own money) for people that come there and have no Christmas and loved viewing the Christmas displays.
Gave all my Halloween Bags of candy after Halloween to charity( some not opened yet).
Always give new toys ( usually stuffed toys) for children at Thrift shop for the needy.
Give food stuffs for the food bank.( good stuff not the crap that some give).
Bought a certificate ($25,$50) at the grocery store for fresh Turkeys for the economically disadvantaged every year so that they could have a good Christmas meal.
Cooked and sold batches of decorative cookies for the ‘Cookie Roundup” to fund a Patio for the Seniors.
If I haven’t worn an outfit for two years I give it away to thrift shop as well.
Gave new winter scarves,toques,mitts for a charity drive.

I give to thrift shops just to get the stuff out of the house!
