When I put my iPad or laptop in a travel bag I always worry it might endure stress or risk breaking. If it had some give I wouldn’t be so concerned. Similar to a skyscraper being built to sway in winds and earthquakes.

In fact, even my iPhone in my pocket is a concern, especially if I sit down. That’s why I don’t keep it in my pocket.

I don’t mean we lay people adding something to existing products, I mean manufacturing items with some flexibility.
