Think it was about the lead up to the meeting between the two and what happened afterwards. Elvis wanting to get some type of narc appointment from Nixon and Nixon wanting to look cool to younger voters.

I read “My Life With Elvis” by Priscilla. She touched on his meeting with Nixon.
I think that book would make.a much better movie.

She was born in 1945. She’s probably just hanging out enjoying life, @NoMoreY_Aagain. She is financially stable, doesn’t need to work. If she needed money, she’d be in the public eye, working.

Must not have done good box office. I just wanted to see it because I’m a history buff. But it seems like it just disappeared off planet.

Well Elvis was a bit of a pedophile. Priscilla caught his eye when she was 15 and he was 30. Talked her parents into letting her move in with him.
He teased her but refused to have sex with her until she was 18.
So she lived in his mansion and on her 18th birthday, or shortly thereafter, he married her and had intercourse with her.
She immediately became pregnant. It skeeved him out to have sex with a pregnant woman and, above all sex with a woman who was a mother!
So then they divorced.

Yes, it came out in 2016 Michael Shannon played Elvis with Kevin Spacey as Nixon.It’s supposed to be a true story. I don’t think it faired very well. This is what IMDB had to say about it. IF you have Amazon Prime, you can watch it for free through their streaming service

I saw that moviea couple years ago. It’s actually pretty funny.
Elvis is trying to manipulate Nixon into giving him a federal agent badge, so he can take guns on a plane.

I never saw the movie but I did see a documentary (PBS maybe?) about it. It was interesting.

Among other things, Elviis had Mommy Issues and felt guilty that he lived when his twin brother was born dead. He seemed to have a lot of issues in his lifetime

I know that the photo of Nixon and Elvis shaking hands at the White House has become an almost iconic pic from U.S. history, akin to the Arizona burning at Pearl Harbor or the painting of Lees surrender at Appamotox. Go figure.

I don’t see him as a pedophile, but a man who fell in love with a young lady and respected her enough to wait until she was of age to have sex. You might be surprised to discover how many men stop having sex with their wives after the baby comes. It’s not that uncommon. A lot of wives lose interest in sex after having their baby as well

It’s an Amazon Original movie which might be why it disappeared so fast. Amazon has a short attention span!!! With the current impeachment, Nixon’s name is coming up a lot so it gives them the opportunity to promote themselves once again.

He had a mom-thing that’s always stuck me as weird.

His twin was born dead 35 minutes before he was born. The family placed the baby’s dead body in a box & placed it on the table to wait for the other baby to be born. He felt it traumatized his mother to have to look at her dead baby while waiting on her live baby & he tried to make it up to her for as long as she lived. He felt that no woman should have to experience the saddest moment of her life at the same time experiencing the happiest moment of her life & he felt guilty for having any part in it.

@NoMoreY_Aagain Don’t waste your time watching this movie. It’s boring & the longest 90 minutes I’ve ever wasted…I kept thinking something was going to happen, but it NEVER did!!!
