Women: how long did it take you to do your hair when you were a teenager?

“Great Question” (1points)

In the morning before school, and when you were going out at night.

Did you use curlers or a curling iron or flat iron?

Did you perm or straighten or color your hair as a teenager?

My hair feathered great.
About half an hour.

Only used a curling iron. Never occurred to me to color my hair. Hadn’t heard of a flat iron or I probably would have used it. That straight indian hair was the rage. Headbands looked stupid on poofy hair! I thought.

I was a teen in the 80s, i’d say my hair was kinda poofy, but not “big”. I washed it in the shower every morning and then blew it dry. Once that was done I used a curling iron. Probably took me about 30 minutes from that point. I got perms and “body waves” back then here and there.

@anniereborn it finally hit me in the late 90s that I actually had pretty great hair. Just mousse, scrunch and Go. It pretty much looked good whereever.

@Dutchess_lll Once I got into my 30s my hair got thicker and it’s been pretty great ever since. I just wash and go. No mousse or anything. My hair is awesome at 51.

0 time because I brushed it and went to wherever.
I have straight hair and I always shower at night because it takes FOREVER to get dry. Literally took my hair stylist almost 20 mins to dry it completely

Just the two minutes for brushing. I have curls, but gentle rather than corkscrew. With the right cut, it needs very little maintenance. I didn’t like my hair in highschool, but I’m happy with it now.

I used to use a blow dryer and then a curling iron (this was toward the end of the 70’s and into the 80’s). I would also occasionally get a body wave (which is actually a perm with a looser curl). That was trendy when I was in my teens.

If I used the curling iron, I’d have it heating up while I dried my hair. It probably took ten to fifteen minutes between the dryer and the iron.

My hair was always straight.

I couldn’t tell you how long as time stood still, much like my hair after all that Aquanet….
I have had perms before, which defies logic as my hair is pretty wavy without that kind of “help” lol
I didn’t color my hair back then. Sometimes I will nowadays but I don’t have a lot of grey. I secretly wish I had my husband’s silver color.
