The uber-religious would say that Corona is in fact God punishing humanity, much like the story of Noah (where the flood kills everyone but Noah and his family), or the story of the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah which was full of sinners.

Some religious – Pentecostalists – are embracing Coronavirus because they think it brings them closer to the so-called End Times.

If you are a true believer, the Coronavirus is all god’s doing and he is totally responsible for it.

If you’re NOT a believer, you want to develop vaccines and cures.

Disclaimer: I don’t believe in God.

If God is the father, I guess his interest would be the same as any father, for his children to be happy and to live.

I can’t help but remember that God is supposed to have superpowers though, so it seems more like He is abusive.

Does he have a stake? Maybe we are just entertainment for Him. Or, an experiment. If we kill ourselves off, maybe he will try again. I guess maybe He will be sad that we couldn’t make it work.

If there was a “God” I have always thought that he/she must view Earth as if it were a terrarium, and created it as such for his amusement. He/she walks by every so often, and looks in to see what’s going on. Whatever happens, happens, and it amuses/interests/entertains him/her.
