Yes. But probably not this year.

They are already verifying tests that give results in fifteen minutes. That’s pretty close to “Instantly”.

The 15 minute test is already out there. I don’t know the false positive or false negative rate.

Or, did you mean an antibody test? That is in the works, but from what I understand it is having accuracy problems right now. That is also very quick, like a pregnancy test where you pee on the stick, but this is a blood test.

IF you’re rich enough you can get one almost immediately. Everyone else has to wait 8–10 days. trump took his test in the White House, walked down to the Oval Office & received a call with his results. Reporters in the White House take their tests &10 days later still don’t have their results. The poor exhibiting symptoms of the virus can’t get a doctor to put them on the list to be tested while NBA players have theirs back same day.

@LadyMarissa I care that the rich and poor have different situations regarding testing and access to healthcare regarding C19, and basically almost every health situation. It’s worth noting though that not knowing you have it doesn’t change what people should do if they are sick. Sick, stay home, careful not to infect others. Trouble breathing, go to the ER.

Turns out the much touted 15 minute test by Abbott Labs is giving a high percentage of false negatives, in the neighborhood of 48%.
