Your question makes a lot of assumptions.
That there is an acceptable death toll that gets an economy up and running.
As if anybody on Earth, including you, really feels good about debating an acceptable death rate.
As if anybody really measures economic progress against death. Only cynics of the highest order would do that, and they should be ashamed of that level of cynicism.
As if finally, one day, reasonable people will say ” Well, the Death Toll finally hit the max, so let ‘s just say fuck it and get the economy up and running.
I assume that if you do not care about the economy you are
1. Wealthy beyond current economic concerns, or
2. Dependant on a third party check and imagine that it will show up forever because you are used to it, or believe you are entitled to it
3. You live in a refrigerator box under a bridge and simply don’t understand stuff.
That total deaths from the virus pandemic will be different if everybody keeps hiding. Truth is, until there is a vaccine, the infection/death rate is inevitable. It’s just a matter of time.
What is your fantasy to stop the infection rate/death rate of the virus?
