I don’t understand how the 5 year old factors into whether you are pregnant

The EPT pregnancy test kit claims that they are 99% accurate & they can give accurate results on the first day of your missed period. Most of the others say 5–7days after the first day of your missed period. IF you have a Planned Parenthood in your area, you might go to them to be tested. Unless things have changed, they don’t charge for the test.

If your period is due in two weeks, see if it comes. If not, then take the test 7 days later, as per @LadyMarissa‘s instructions from the test. So 3 weeks from now. If you are pregnant, you’d be 5 weeks pregnant at that point.

EPT tests are crap, I bought 3 boxes of EPT tests & 1 box of Clearblue tests when I thought I was pregnant and all ept tests had negative results but the Clearblue tests both said Pregnant. I was afraid I was just reading them wrong so I made my boyfriend pee on 1 of the ept tests just to compare results and his test looked exactly like all of mine. Since the clearblue tests were positive I went to planned parenthood to find out if I was pregnant (also to avoid using my moms health insurance), they apparently use EPT tests also because when I called back 2 hours later to get the results, they told me I wasn’t pregnant. At that point I was really freaked out thinking I might have cancer or that something was seriously wrong because my period had always been super regular previously, so I made an appointment with my regular doctor for the following day. After explaining all the different test results I had received, she had me take a blood test and they confirmed that I was in fact around 11 weeks pregnant.
