That is puzzling and it causes concern of identity theft whereby the perpetrator was trying to obtain those benefits , however the address would had been on file, so that is why she received it.
Perhaps her files were not updated and your mother should notify them of that .
@Inspired_2write It is an established and reported item that many people were sent checks who were deceased, my mother being one of them. It is the fault of the government agency that mistakenly sent them out and it is the responsibility of those receiving the checks to send them back, as I did. It wasn’t a question about identity theft.
