Why the dermatological condition of tinea cruris develop in circular arcs and not in random?

It kind of makes sense. Like a pebble causing a ripple. It starts as a lesion. Then as papules rupture, the papulovesicular border expands as the center begins to clear.

Might also have something to do with host inflammation response. Incorrect treatment with topical steroids can suppress inflammation and alter the typically circinate appearance.

Just a guess.
