Aside from being fragile, ineffective, way over-budget, and not really addressing the problems of immigration, it’s a great idea.

The wall was never meant to solve any immigration problem. It was a a symbol, a McGuffin, a prop for Trump to point to and whip up white voters.

Funds to pay for it could be best used elsewhere and have a greater impact .
No it doesn’t stop illegal immigrants, nor Drug cartels from gaining entry..they just used different methods.( flying, boats,trains (?),drones etc

Biggest source of “illegal immigrants” by a huge margin in the US is visa overstays. The wall doesn’t address this, it’s not effective, it’s expensive and as has been pointed out, its primary purpose is as a symbol for people who are too stupid to understand how ineffective of a solution it really is.

Well, even Trump says the wall does not stop illegal immigration but drastically slows it down.

It is Trump’s phallic symbol.

I certainly hope that as many people as possible want the Wall taken down, because it’s so terrible and foolish in so many ways.

The part I can about most, of course, is the massive amount of death, destruction, desecration and suffering it causes. There is almost never an actually good reason to build a giant wall in the wilderness. People who want walls through the wilderness, let alone across an entire continent, should never be in positions of power, and need to be reeducated (or ought to be educated in the first place).

Other reasons include the colossal waste, stupidity, and inhumane terribleness. And even for people who are xenophobic and heartless enough to think they want to keep all humans completely regulated or unable to cross the border without being passed by the lovely and ultra-super-greatly-well-trained human beings of ICE, well, they should understand that a wall doesn’t accomplish that.

Besides wreaking ecological damage for no effect on immigration, and a waste of money just for Trump to stroke his ego, it’s kind of a stupid wall. It doesn’t even work right.

It’s not only that we want it torn down, we never actually supported it in the beginning. It’s a colossal failure of a concept.

I doubt that Pelosi or Schumer have ever been to the border where there is no fencing because they might be hurt by one of those illegal immigrants wanting to invade us. Those two are ignorant beyond all believability.They simply don’t want President Trump to succeed at anything – especially stopping illegal future democrat voters. I guess all the border patrol guys are lying, then, since all of them say the reduction in immigration has been astronomical.

I know illegal aliens that actually contribute to American society.
I also know plenty of legal American people that do nothing but crystal meth and break into people’s cars all night.

The only peeps that I’ve heard say that the dems want to tear down the wall are trump and the reps who support him. Then again, we all know that trump would never lie. There was over 600 miles of barriers along the border for most all of my adult life. No, it wasn’t a wall, but there were fences as high as 27 feet, the Rio Grande river, hundreds of miles of deserts to be crossed, miles of mountains. All of these stretched from Calif to the Gulf of Mexico. These barriers were effective enough that drug dealers built miles if air conditioned, well lit tunnels under the border in order to go under any barriers that were there. These same tunnels could just as easily go under any wall that has been built at taxpayer expense

I didn’t really care before. But now that I know wanting the wall torn down is “owning the repugs” I’m firmly in camp, “tear it down!”.

It seems to be working this far. Illegal crossings were down for a while but now that the Covid scare is waning the numbers are picking up.

Although most families and individuals crossing illegally have conservative family values and often a good work ethic, they are far more in favor of Socialist government. They will vote for Democrats because that is what they have been taught to do. It takes only minimal identification to vote at most polling places. Even if a Drivers’ Liscense is all that is required to vote or to register they’re free.

And I’m not sure how you think you know the minds of illegals crossing the border, but I KNOW if I was doing something illegal, I would be on the down and low. I would not be bringing attention to myself by voting illegally and potentially getting caught and sent back.

Citation needed. Who is teaching people fleeing dire situations in Central and South America to vote for Democrats if and when they get asylum in the United States?

You can cite statistics that immigrants are more likely to vote for Democrats if they eventually get to be citizens. That’s because what they do learn is that they’ll get nothing but abuse from Republicans unless they have tons of money and white skin.

Show us any evidence that someone is “teaching” asylum seekers to vote for Democrats, if and when they earn the vote by becoming citizens.
