“Great Question” (2points)

Joe Biden talked about his strategies last night in his acceptance speech. Are some or any of these going to be embraced by the Republican population?

The “big guy” doesn’t care about unity only power.

We have been enduring rabid Republican idiocy for almost thirty years now, when they went bananas on the Clintons, and were claiming the White House Christmas Tree was decorated with crack pipes. First Fox News and then the Internet amplified the lies, and validated their dumbass beliefs.

The birth certificate, Benghazi, “Biden crime family” crowd will never be reasonable. Nothing they want is good and nothing will change them. It’s a religion.

Meanwhile, the vast majority of Americans (and people on Earth) want to work and raise families and attain some comfort. They will be fine with President Biden.

We will move on and the troglodytes can stay down in the mud entertaining themselves with their paranoia and made-up conspiracies and outrage.

@kritiper Funny you didn’t have that sentiment with Trump.

SQUEEKY2's avatar

Wulfie your GOD spouted hate filled rhetoric non stop about anyone who remotely stood up to him.
Amazing he has said he dislikes face masks ,and presto there are pages and pages of facts saying masks are no good, heck might even be bad, although all health professionals still say wear the mask.
He said that Covid19 was a democratic hoax???? That the whole planet is in on, might want to tell that to the dead people this hoax has claimed world wide.
I don’t see Biden doing any of that, and everyone on the planet can do without his hate filled rhetoric and maybe ,I know it’s a long shot and boy you wont like it but maybe work together to get Covid19 under control and get every countries economies up and going.

@seawulf575 Trump was only out to help the rich, and himself. When he signed the paper to agree to abide by the Republican Party’s wishes, he became their puppet.

jca2's avatar

@seawulf575: Do you think Trump tried to unite people when he said “Proud Boys stand by and stand back?” Do you think Trump tried to unite people when he made fun of the reporter who had cerebral palsy? Do you think Trump tried to unite people when he talked about women being overweight? Do you think Trump tried to unite people when he called women “horse face?”

seawulf575's avatar

@kritiper I keep hearing about how Trump and the Republicans are only out to help the rich. But take a look at where the wealthy sink their money. It isn’t in Republican candidates. Dems benefit far more from the wealthy. And yes, they become the puppets of the wealthy. Its a symbiotic relationship. They take money from the rich, help make the rich, richer, and get rich themselves in the process.

Call_Me_Jay's avatar

_But take a look at where the wealthy sink their money. It isn’t in Republican candidates.

If you believe that is true, prove it. Back up your claims. Show who supported Trump AND who supported Biden.

As far as we can see, you are mindlessly repeating what you see in your right-wing extremist info bubble.

Biden is a socialist bent on destroying capitalism and freedom.

Who is in the pocket of big business.

Only a super-villain could pull of that feat. Ergo Democrats vote for super-villains It’s science!!

@jca2 I’m not sure where all this came about, but let’s address some of your issues and I will ask you some questions in return.
The Proud boy comment came from a hectoring reporter that asked why President Trump wouldn’t denounce white supremacists and racists…something he has done numerous times. He said he had and the fake news media wouldn’t report it…they just ignored it every time. So the reporter asked him if he would tell the Proud Boys (who, by the way are neither WS or racists) to stand by and stand back? So he did. And now apparently that isn’t good enough. So blame the reporter. In fact, blame ALL the reporters for failing to accurately report all the times President Trump denounced the hate-filled right wing groups. The fault with this unity is not with Trump, it’s with the press.
The reporter with Cerebral Palsy. Let’s set the ground work for this one. During an interview with George Stephanopolous, then candidate Trump said he was disgusted with the folks across the river from NYC in NJ cheering when the Twin Towers fell down. Immediately, the leftist propagandists (MSM) began “fact checking” and saying Trump was lying. One of his many lies. The Washington Post even went so far as to dig in and say there was never any report of such behavior and that the racist candidate was just making it up. So Trump pulled out an article from a reporter named Serge Kovaleski who, at the time the article was written, worked for the WaPo and the article appeared in their newspaper. The article said “In Jersey City, within hours of two jetliners’ plowing into the World Trade Center, law enforcement authorities detained and questioned a number of people who were allegedly seen celebrating the attacks and holding tailgate-style parties on rooftops while they watched the devastation on the other side of the river.” It was extremely embarrassing for all of the MSM but especially for WaPo. The reached out to Kovaleski who was now working at the NYT. He scrambled to come up with some explanation that would undo his previous report and allow Trump to be wrong but couldn’t. Then Trump, at a SC rally, Made fun of his scrambling around…not of his affliction. But the MSM, in their scramble took a 2 second cut and said “LOOK!!! He’s making fun of a guy for being crippled!”. It took the heat off them for saying he was lying and then for having their own words thrown up to dispute them. I think Trump’s antics on stage were over the top, but that is Trump. Once again, the disunity is from Trump, it is from the media.
The overweight woman comment I will need you to give a citation for. I have seen some random comments thrown together in stories to try painting a negative picture of President Trump but am not sure what you are exactly talking about. So far all I can see is some MSM trying to paint a negative picture which more disunity than anything the POTUS has said.
Horse Face was not about women…it was about one woman…Stephanie Clifford a.k.a Stormy Daniels. I will say it is childish to resort to name calling like this, but to be fair, she also referred to him as “Tiny” because of the supposed size of his penis. Not real adult there either. So it isn’t an attack on all women, just one that was trying to milk fame and money out of him.
Now, for questions to you: Do you think Trump was trying to unite the people when he pushed for prison reform? Do you think Trump tried to unite the people when he pushed to get more blacks and hispanics working than ever before in our history? Do you think Trump was trying to unite the people when he called for peaceful protests and supported law and order?
But let’s not just limit the conversation to Trump since the question was about Biden. Do you think Biden tried to unite the people when he said to a black radio host and his mainly black audience “Well I tell you what, if you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black.”? How about unity from ”“There are people who support the president because they like the fact that he is engaged in the politics of division,” Biden said. “They really support the notion that, you know, all Mexicans are rapists and all Muslims are bad and… dividing this nation based on ethnicity, race. This is the one [sic] of the few presidents who succeeded by deliberately trying to divide the country, not unite the country.”? Gee he just pulled a “basket of deplorables” comment trying to run down anyone that might support Trump. Think that was meant to unify people? Think Biden was trying to unify the country when he refused for weeks to denounce the violence going on in many US cities?

I have no idea, I can only hope that by not being a bully, instigator, and hatemonger like Trump was, it could only help bring us together even a teensy weensy little bit.

Demosthenes's avatar

^This. Biden is not going to be able to heal the division in this country. There’s a part of me that thinks that the division is endemic and will inevitably lead to some kind of civil war or revolution at some point in the future, but Biden could avoid making it worse and make it clear that he intends to be president of the entire nation and not just a small “base” of ardent supporters. He could make his presidency about doing things for the nation rather than blaming everything on Trump and Republicans. We’ll see what happens.

@seawulf575: Trump’s comment “Proud Boys stand by and stand back” was from the debate. The reporter, the next day asked him about it, but the original comment was from the debate, and the moderator asked him if he was going to denounce white supremacists and he did not answer. Nice.

By giving lots of largess. Also free everything for the poor and middle class, on Wall street and the riches dime. Like free dental work. Free medications. Free university tuition.

seawulf575's avatar

@jca2 Okay, but if you watched the debate he was asked to tell WS groups to “stand down”. He said he would do that and said “Give me a name”. They wouldn’t initially give him a name until finally Biden said “Proud Boys”. I think Chris Wallace echoed it. So Trump told the Proud Boys (who again aren’t WS or racists) exactly what they wanted him to tell them. But in true lefty fashion it got taken out of context. He gave the left what they wanted and they tried using it against him.

seawulf575's avatar

@jca2 And, just curious, after making all sorts of challenges to me, to which I responded, why haven’t you addressed the ones I gave to you? Especially since they were much more on topic with the original question?

@jca2 I have written here several times – there is a common type of conservative who believes never shutting up is “winning” an argument. They never concede a point, they never admit and error, and they will never stop typing. They aren’t interested in truth, they will accept any nonsense that supports their beliefs and reject everything else. When their errors are pointed out, they ignore it and move on to new, equally dishonest talking points.

In a way, they do win the arguments, because normal people get tired and stop engaging the tiresome jerks.

seawulf575's avatar

@Call_Me_Jay Yeah, isn’t it great? Funny thing I have seen. When I am interacting with someone, some other idiot almost always jumps in to make grand generalizations that are neither true nor pertinent. Don’t you hate it when someone does that to you?

jca2's avatar

@Call_Me_Jay: When people go on and on like that, I say to myself that they must have lots of free time. I don’t but it must be nice.
