Has Trump actually become unhinged?

“Great Question” (4points)

Really a two part question. Has Trump truly lost his mind, and IF he refuses to concede and leave the White House, will he be forced out by the military?

His term ends at 12 noon ET on January 20. Secret Service and National Park Police can force/escort him out of the White House at 12:01 p.m.

He became unhinged a long time ago.

He was programmed for unhinged as a toddler.

He was “unhinged” when he judged himself fit to be President

That would be one way to put it…

Become?

The jelly consensus so far appears to be that he was nuts all along. I do believe he was an unfathomable ego maniac from the start, but I’m not sure he was insane. But it is beginning to look like he has lost his grip on reality. To my knowledge, no other President in history has behaved this way. I have read that Truman and Eisenhower both had a disdain for each other, that Truman was vocal in his dislike for Ike, and that Ike was rude and distant with Truman at the inauguration. But things still went off smoothly with none of this nonsense. Going to be an interesting January, fore shore.

The hidden long term cognitive effects of Covid-19.

@chyna Yeah, that had completely slipped my mind that Trump had had a bout with Covid. Interesting point there.

Dutchess_III's avatar

He is no different now than he was before he got Covid.

I’m not sure insanity is so much the proper assessment, just as it is probably a mistake to judge a petulant 4 year old a lunatic.
That there are cognitive issues and malignant personality flaws about the fool is no longer in dispute.

But the sad fact is that his Republican backers and enablers in the government still support him and it is causing great harm to our system of democracy.

When was he not unhinged?

His supporters are even more unhinged.

stanleybmanly's avatar

@chyna I agree that is the actual shock to Donald Trump. It’s the fact that half the country finds it acceptable to put a whack job in the White House.

@SQUEEKY2

wow!
Just viewed that link of Tump’s memory slipping.
I wonder what the whole world would say after seeing that?
Something definitely wrong with Trump and yet he is like the “Emperor with no clothes” where everyone is afraid to tell him the truth?

Nomore_lockout's avatar

Speak the truth to the Emperor? Surely you jest?

Inspired_2write's avatar

@Nomore_lockout
I suppose “not” telling the truth would make them keep there Careers but also keeps the rest of us ( in the U.S. ) on edge.
He could have his hand on the “panic button” and start a War!
He is clearly unfit at this point and YET no one makes any attempt to get him Professional help?
I can just imagine in the future of people wondering HOW in the world did this person “lead” a nation?
