You know, your question prompted me to pull out my old HS yearbook, to re-read some of the quotes placed beneath the photos, and here are just a few, if you don’t mind me sharing them, and I need to note that we were told that we could only place one “summary sentence” about ourselves beneath our photo, and it couldn’t be longer than so many letters (to include all punctuation). Here is what I found, while thumbing through it, just now:
The stuck-up Capt. of the football team had:
“Don’t call me, I’ll call you.”
The head cheerleader (the most beautiful woman in the entire school) had:
“You ain’t got that much money!”
The class NERD (called, “Brain,”) had:
“Always remember, as you go through life, that the square of the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the other two sides.”
One jerk had:
“Drop me a line! Write me a line, then drop it!”
And here was the BEST of all of them, IMHO:
“Keep your eye on THIS SPOT for an up-coming announcement!”
