I cannot speak to all men or even women but there are some points about athletic wear for women and that is that they are made to look sexier today. Women’s spandex pants today can take a somewhat unshapely figure and tuck in loose flabby parts and make it look firmer than it actually is and shapelier. Sports bras that no longer have the Uni boob look now separate and lift. Waist belts that give the waist and hourglass look.

Meh..back in the day I never got overworked by women in gym duds. I preferred seeing women in formal wear. Something about a woman looking all pretty and Cosmopolitan that flips my wig. Still does. Like a long evening gown, something to that effect.

My guess would be that the women look real, without make-up or miracle bras or perfumed.
