I’m not a Catholic but I think I might ask Pope Francis for ideas on ending hunger and powerty.

I will work to make all nations reduce the amount of humans being born, so that, inevitably, the world’s population will fall to below 500 million. That should help drastically in reducing the effects of climate change and other oncoming disasters.

Such a large and broad topic.

First I’m going to track down all the oligarchy who have been pulling all the strings and isolate them in a happy camp, to prevent them meddling with their perverse ideas.

All the very large for-profit corporations that adversely affect the planet are going to have their charters revised so that they serve good purposes rather than just profit and stock value, and strive to avoid causing harm to others (including non-humans). This means almost all of their executive leadership, lobbyists and bought politicians should be replaced (and some of them sent to the happy camp, or at least an eye will be kept on what they get up to).

Non-humans are going to start getting treated more like humans in terms of rights to life, liberty and happiness, and their (and our) ecosystems are going to be recognized as unique, irreplaceable, and essential, and in need of protection and restoration. That of course requires treating climate science seriously and making the future health of the planet more important than industrial practices that threaten them.

“Oh no! What about our hard-earned stock portfolios and jobs?” I expect some people may say…. well, we’ll be replacing the “if you don’t have money, you get no food/shelter/medicine/etc” deal. I’m not going into details on that here, but it’ll work out.

I run the world? Well, first things first. Belly up to the bar boys, free grog for all hands. If your mamma bear tries to track you down, tell her you’ll catch her on the flip flop, and have another round. We can get down to business after we sober up. And then I’ll hand off responsibility to who ever wants it. IO just wand to go fish under a shade tree. Keep me posted.

I would make the Golden rule mandatory. That would solve all the other issues.
