Do you have any all-nighter study session/work tips?

Let’s be real here; as much as having a good night’s sleep is a necessary thing, we all pull at least a couple all-nighters here and there. Any tips for how to keep focused and stay alert, aside from a good cup of coffee (since I’ve already had one)?

Take eye breaks every 20 minutes or so. Bring some mini snacks with you like mixed nuts or trail mix. Drink water only.

@RedDeerGuy1 sounds like a good, healthy all nighter. Healthier than my coffee and mentos version, at any rate.

@hihellohi Thanks. In university I pulled an all weeker in the computer lab. On “the importance of being Earnest”. I got the second highest grade in the class. 65%. I had 17 grammar errors.

Don’t do them if you can avoid it. It’s not effective and you’re exhausted anyway.

In college we would go to a local ‘family style’ restaurant around 10pm each night and pull all-nighters drinking their good fresh coffee. We would also work out before going there, so we were energized and ready to focus.

Keep the room a little on the cool side and keep the lighting bright. I used to drink MILO, a malty drink with no caffeine. I’m not sure you can still get it.

Never did an all-nighter. I would have fallen asleep in class. My recommendation is get at least 6 hours sleep.

I tried it once in college. Loaded up on caffeine, and then someone gave me a pill that was supposed to keep me awake. I fell asleep in about an hour and was groggy at test time. Would have been much better off just to go to bed as usual. Not that I never crammed for an exam, but keeping up with the course was always a smarter option.

Music always helped me during this situation. But hey- candy can get that energy up. If neither of these work uh- try getting sleep at least 4–8 hours it helps.
