Same on weekends as weekdays pretty much.

Check my calendar and see if I have any discussion groups I’m interested in. Check to see if my husband wants to do anything that I need to plan my day around. During covid we do much less outside of the house than before covid. Now that we are getting vaccinated maybe we will start doing more again. We are supposed to go to Disney Springs to meet up with a friend in a week. A couple of weeks ago we went to the beach for an hour.

I also usually check work email. Possibly, do some other work. Make lunch. Catch up on DVR. Maybe visit a friend. Try to do an hour of exercise. See if any good bands are playing where I live.

Starting 3:30pm Friday, I do nothing serious until 9:00 am Monday…okay maybe 4:00pm.

On Saturday mornings, I buzz my head and cut off the little hair that’s there. Then I start the laundry. I usually have 2 or 3 loads. I like to hang dry my laundry.

On Sunday mornings, I go to church.

The rest of the time has no structure.

Now I’m working in the office until 1 on Fridays so my weekend officially starts then. Sometimes on Friday evenings I’ll go shopping. If I do, I try to shoot up to the stores in the afternoon rather than wait for evening. By going in the afternoon on Friday, I beat Friday rush hour traffic. Saturday and Sunday are up for grabs. Sometimes in better weather we’ll be invited to friends’ on Saturday nights to sit around a fire and hang out. Sometimes we’re invited to friends’ on Sundays to join them for their Sunday dinner. Tonight, I’m taking my daughter and three of her friends out for shopping and dinner.

There’s really no hard and fast weekend routine. My main thing is if I have errands to run, I try not to schedule them too early in the morning because I enjoy a leisurely morning of drinking coffee and not rushing out the door.

Normally, before the Pandemic (the “Before Times”) I might be running errands on Saturdays like getting the oil changed or getting my hair done. Now, during the pandemic, working sporadically in the office, I have a lot of time during the week to do those things on week days.

Spring, summer and fall:
Saturday: go canoe practice or race with my canoe club.
Sunday: go Hobie Cat sailing or hiking.

Winter:
Saturday: go canoe paddling or hiking with my wife.

At 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, I go to a superb Spin class. That always gets my weekend off to an early and productive start.

I read the newspapers more thoroughly during the weekend. After that, it depends on the time of year. If it’s during the MLB season or postseason, the games get a great deal of my time and attention.

@Hawaii_Jake Hooray for solar clothes dryers (i.e. clotheslines). I’m envious and wish I had one.

On weekends, I don’t take a shower until I’m ready to go out, which, on a day when I’m not going out until the evening, means the shower won’t be until the evening. Today, the Girl Scout leader came by at 1 to drop something off for a project, and I was in my pajamas with hair messy. Embarrassing!

I work weekends. But I only work part time and I’m free the rest of the week, so all good. Routine is pretty much trying to avoid Big Stinky, the resident skunk. We avoid each other as much as humanly (or skunkanly) possible.

My weekend routine is much the same as my weekdays:

Wake around 8:00 shower and have breakfast while listening to BBC Radio 4.
Catch the TV news headlines and watch an episode of Judge Judy over a cup of green tea.
Check some favourite websites, perhaps do some work for my son.
Have lunch while listening to the radio.
Take a walk or go for a cycle. I may go away all day if the weather is good.
Watch “Star Trek Discovery” and or “The Crown” before the evening meal.
Phone calls with family.
Back to my PC, I’ll look up some favourite sites, listen to music or watch a lecture on YouTube.
Read for a bit then go to bed.

@Nomore_lockout That’s funny. I might try a routine. I have never really had one. Things just come in an orderly form for me.
@flutherother Nice

@Nomore_lockout I think it’s skunkily.
